Skyping!!!!
Today we were really lucky to have the chance to Skype with Major Carol Ditmer from the Salvation Army in the USA. Our RE topic is Christian charity and we found out all about the work that they do to support people. We found some of the stories quite sad but were amazed at how much help they gave to people.

Stars of the week!
This week, our stars are:
-Tyla for her fantastic literacy work-we have had assessments this week and Miss Ogden has been really impressed with her attitude and effort!
-Angelika for being so positive this week and having such a good working attitude!
Keeping safe online
For the last two weeks, we have taken part in a range of activities linked to anti-bullying and keeping ourselves safe. We had a visitor into school from the police who talked to us about how to keep safe online. We were surprised with some of the information he shared and have made posters to remind ourselves of this!

Writing workshop with Miss Pitchford
After a fantastic visit to the zoo, Miss P came into school to help us produce a piece of writing. We worked on a persuasive letter to the curator and director of education at the zoo. Because this was such an important letter, we worked in groups to edit and draft our letter.
Have a look at our plans so far:

Today, we have had a fantastic day at the zoo and even managed to get behind the scenes at the rhino enclosure! We learnt all about a day in the life of a zoo keeper and were able to help the keepers by writing the rhino's names onto bags for their dung collection!

Laser Maze
We attempted to act as secret agents to enter the laser maze, getting from one side of the room to the other!
Survival - part two
Wow!! What a team!! Year 6 created an excellent camp area and fire ready to cook whatever they could catch. They were brilliant at making sure the camp had seats, a table in the middle and logs to prevent the wind from blowing in. I think we have some top class survivors in our class...
Survival - part one...
Year 6 have just crash landed in the forest! They are trying to survive in a remote place. Only a few essentials have managed to be saved... Check out the blog later to find out what happens...
Olympics!!!
This morning, we are working with Year 5 to take part in a mini Olympics! We are brilliant at javelin but not so good at hammer throw!
