Reflecting on our half term

Today we have had meetings with Miss Ogden to reflect on our progress this half term. We have looked at our work in Maths and English and set ourselves some new targets; there might have also been donuts involved because we are working so hard! 

Manfish!!

We are really excited this week about starting our new book: Manfush. So far, we had a great conversation about whether it was a fiction or non fiction text along with learning the poem at the start. Keep checking back to see how our work progresses....

Fantastic writing!!!!!

Miss Ogden was really impressed with our hot tasks this week! We had to write a voyage and return story where our main character heads off to find fame and fortune.

Gymnastics

Today we had a fantastic time doing gymnastics with our coach. We learned about travelling in different ways and moving along a bench.

Carol Singing!

Yesterday, we went carol singing with year 5! We had a fantastic time and all got a gift afterwards. We raised about £140 for charity 😀

Gingerbread houses!

We Today, we have been working in pairs to create some fantastic houses. We have been making sure we work in a team to talk and help each other! Christmas has hit year 6!!! 

Hoops for health

Year 5 and 6 enjoyed 3 super sessions with professional basketball players from the Chetser based basketball team Cheshire Phoenix. The head coach and two players joined the children for the whole afternoon. 

The children were split into three groups and took part in activities that explored healthy eating, anti-smoking and basketball control. 

At the end of the afternoon, all the children were given information and FREE tickets to the teams next home game. 

Finally, a HUGE well done to Freddie for winning a signed basketball!
