Skyping!!!!

Today we were really lucky to have the chance to Skype with Major Carol Ditmer from the Salvation Army in the USA. Our RE topic is Christian charity and we found out all about the work that they do to support people. We found some of the stories quite sad but were amazed at how much help they gave to people.

We also found out about Major Carol's life and how she felt God gave her a message to be an officer. A great afternoons work!!!!!

Fencing

This week, we have been learning how to do an aggressive block. This means we block a strike towards us and also try to gain a point off our partner. We are really enjoying our fencing lessons even if look rather silly in our gear!

Stars of the week!

This week, our stars are:

-Tyla for her fantastic literacy work-we have had assessments this week and Miss Ogden has been really impressed with her attitude and effort!

-Angelika for being so positive this week and having such a good working attitude!

Keeping safe online

For the last two weeks, we have taken part in a range of activities linked to anti-bullying and keeping ourselves safe. We had a visitor into school from the police who talked to us about how to keep safe online. We were surprised with some of the information he shared and have made posters to remind ourselves of this!

Writing workshop with Miss Pitchford

After a fantastic visit to the zoo, Miss P came into school to help us produce a piece of writing. We worked on a persuasive letter to the curator and director of education at the zoo. Because this was such an important letter, we worked in groups to edit and draft our letter.

Have a look at our plans so far:

Zoo trip!

Today, we have had a fantastic day at the zoo and even managed to get behind the scenes at the rhino enclosure! We learnt all about a day in the life of a zoo keeper and were able to help the keepers by writing the rhino's names onto bags for their dung collection!

Enjoy looking at our photos'
